3月15日下午，剑桥国际考试委员会（CIE）华南地区经理Tony Cai来访德胜学校国际部，副校长王明仁、校长助理许益杨、学术课程部副主任顾毕怿接待了Tony Cai并与其进行了会谈。

    通过副校长王明仁和许益杨（校长助理）的介绍，蔡先生了解了国际部学生学习剑桥国际IGCSE高中基础学历课程（以下简称IGCSE）及剑桥国际A水准高中高级学历课程（以下简称A Level）的情况，以及国际部为这两门课程所作出的不懈努力。同时，国际部也提出了涉及各个方面的反馈，包括剑桥教师社区资源的分享、更强大的剑桥国际考试教师支援和提供专门的大学认可讲座等。通过我们的分享，蔡先生对于我们学生的优秀品质和他们在IGCSE考试取得的成果印象深刻。国际部的学生不仅在IGCSE考试表现优异，其中还有两名学生获得剑桥卓越学子大奖世界顶尖奖和一名学生获得中国顶尖奖，由此可证国际部课程的成功及师资的优秀。王明仁副校长和许益杨也表达了对未来和剑桥国际委员会进一步合作的期许，合作内容包括教学资源的分享及剑桥国际考试委员会承办剑桥课程培训等。我们期望能够增强国际部的综合实力，尽可能为我校的师生以及社会提供更优质的设施和资源。

    参观完国际部的教室、实验室、图书馆、餐厅等学校实施后，蔡先生说：“我们真切希望帮助学生建立自信，提高学识，培养他们的创造性与主动性。”同时，德胜学校国际部实力雄厚、师资卓越给蔡先生留下了深刻的印象，他对国际部的发展充满信心。

    国际部对于蔡先生的到访感到十分高兴，希望这次到访能为以后剑桥课程委员会常来国际部的开启大门，让国际部积极协助和提高剑桥课程在中国的实施贡献力量。我们坚信国际部培养的毕业生无论将来去往何处，都能成为一名学者、领袖和全球公民。

生动的课堂和丰富的课外活动

    剑桥IGCSE课程旨在给14到16岁学生提供学历认证的世界最受欢迎的国际课程。它被世界范围内顶尖大学及雇主所承认，是通往发展与成功的通行证。此外，世界范围内成千上万的通过剑桥国际课程毕业考试（AS和A水准考试）的学习者获取了世界顶尖大学的录取通知书，课程指导学生对剑桥学科的深层理解并培养其独立思考能力，国际部通过采用AS和A水准两个课程为不同学习者提供综合性的学习系统。

IED Impressed CIE Delegate

On the afternoon of March 15th, Mr. Tony Cai, manager of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in South China, visited International Education Division (IED) of Guangdong Shunde Desheng School (GSDS). Mr. Christopher Ong, Deputy Principal of GSDS, Mr. Marcus Koh, Assistant Principal and Mr. Ryan Gu, Assistant Head of Academic Studies Department welcomed Mr. Cai and have a fruitful discussion of IED and its' programmes.

Mr. Ong and Mr. Koh shared on IED's Cambridge IGCSE and A Level Programme and our continual strive to improve on teaching and learning of students. In addition, IED has highlighted various feedback such as the improvement of community resource sharing for Cambridge teachers, stronger CIE-teacher support, and specialize university recognition talks by Cambridge. From our sharing Mr. Cai is impressed with the qualities of our students and their achievements in IGCSE thus far. Apart from our outstanding results in IGCSE, we have managed to clinched two Top in the World and one Top in China in the Cambridge Learners Award. This is good evidence of the quality in IED's programmes and teachers. Mr. Ong and Mr. Koh also expressed their anticipation of further collaboration with CIE, varying from teaching resources sharing and hosting Cambridge training courses in Desheng. We hoped to build upon the strength of IED and offer more and better facilities and resources to students, teachers and the community at large.

 “We really hope to help students to be more confident, knowledgeable, creative and proactive.” said Mr. Cai after visiting infrastructure of IED including classrooms, science laboratories, library and the Mint restaurant. “Desheng School and IED is quite powerful. It impressed me with its facilities and teachers. I’m confident about this school.”

 IED is delighted with the visit of Mr. Cai to our school and we hope that this is the first of many to come in which Desheng school can actively help and contribute to the improvement of Cambridge programmes and learning in China. We believed each student graduating from IED will be a scholar, leader and global citizen wherever they are.
